Change starts from hitting the wall

Harriet's journey to find her joy of being started after hitting the wall very hard at the age of 38. She experienced a burnout with depression and many health issues. She heard an inner voice say: change or die. She chose life and healing could start.

Harriet left her job as a senior lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences and started studies to become a group leader in Emotional Dynamics, an Empowerment Coach and a Co-Creative Process Inquiry facilitator. She focused on increasing her self-knowledge and learning major skills to cope in relationships both at home and work life. Her guiding question became: How do I learn about myself?

She chose life and healing could start.

Coaching, healing and exploring

Harriet opened her coaching and healing space in Helsinki. She guided individuals, creatives, small groups, teachers, leaders and business owners in self-awareness and empowerment. She explored the feminine embodied wisdom with teachers like Chameli Ardagh and conscious co-creation with Barbara Marx Hubbard.

She developed and co-created in collaboration a model called Intune to explain the inner healing journey in self-awareness and group awareness applying an embodied way of feeling the resonance. She also came to full understanding that small groups are the cornerstones of healing since they provide a safe container for self-inquiry. The group dynamics offers a richer space for new insight.

Small groups are the cornerstones of healing.

Second deep life crisis

Harriet faced her second deep life crisis when both her parents died unexpectedly during a very short time. She was able to keep herself going, but she had to dive deeper into her childhood traumas to gain understanding about ancestral intergenerational trauma and how it affects generations coming after.

Harriet’s journey spiraled around finding her own truth, reconnecting with her feminine essence, joining small groups for learning to share genuine feelings, studying dream work and symbol drama therapy and, last but not least, increasing her creative self-expression. Art played a major role in her healing process and overcoming blockages from her youth.

Ancestral intergenerational trauma affects generations coming after.

Idea and experimenting

Harriet came up with the idea to offer online programs based on collaborative learning. She met Lorenz and Natasha Sell who were creating an online platform for transformational teaching online called Sutra. Together they experimented with creative writing and their shared inspirational field supported Harriet to unleash her creativity. She created meditations to inspire writing and was able to test her prototype with two small groups.

At the same time her marriage was about to fall apart, but she surrendered one more time into not knowing and controlling the outcome which gave her husband a possibility to make a choice of unconditional love and acceptance, helping turn the relationship around. She started to explore what is a healthy relationship. Love invites you to be honest and real.

Appearance and podcasts

The first program, Joy of Being, got its name. Lorenz made a logo and the first website for the journey. He challenged Harriet to start creating podcasts. She felt deep joy doing them while allowing her creative expression to flow.

Back to inner work

Harriet had seen the power of combining meditation and creative writing but the execution of programs was still not fully in place. She realized that she was now ready to fully focus on the inner work herself. Inner blocks were stopping her from embodying her own potential and creative gifts. She left the work for a while to dive deeper into her own process and personal trauma. The inner core beliefs created in early childhood about how we see ourselves in the world came up to be transformed.

Process with a pair

One morning, Harriet woke up with the vision of sharing the journaling process with a pair. Two test groups and Harriet’s own processes proved this way of doing inner work to be very effective.

Team and expansion

Katarina and Joonas participated in the Joy of Being You process and fell in love. They started to help Harriet with business, marketing and developing the programs. By the end of the year, Leffe joined the work. He had shared the same interests, dancing and personal development for some years with Harriet. The team is enjoying working with the principles of creating a culture for everybody to find their joy of being in their doing.

Harriet created her second program Joy of Purifying Grief. She received inner visions and guidance to create more programs like Joy of Being a Woman and Joy of Being a Man.   She completed her own programs with four different partners. In the shared Joy of Being field she felt being fully seen and heard by another in an equal way with unconditional love. She understood deeply the power of grief in self-healing. She found true empowerment and joy - becoming the creator of her life trusting fully the inner process and being authentic with others. Her existential anxiety due to early childhood trauma could finally be liberated step by step.

She found true empowerment and joy.
